About Pontiac G8

With Australian blood, Pontiac G8 was produced by an Australian automobile manufacturer General Motors Holden and exported to the United States sold under the General Motors Company's brand Pontiac from 18th December 2007 to June 2009 as a full-size car. Originally introduced as the replacement for Pontiac Bonneville, Pontiac Grand Prix, Pontiac GTO and Cadillac Catera, G8 was built based on the GM Zeta platform. But because the GM went through bankruptcy in 2009 and it decided to cancel the Pontiac brand, Pontiac G8 was discontinued to produce and was replaced by the Chevrolet SS and Chevrolet Caprice.
Pontiac G8 made its debut in early 2008 for the 2008 model year in the United States and as a 4-door sedan. It came in three trim levels: base, mid-level GT and top-performing GXP. But even though the base G8 was well-equipped, it had 18-inch wheels, power front seats, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and a seven-speaker CD sound system with an auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio. During its production run, Pontiac G8 was powered by 3.6 L V6 rated at 256 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque, a 6.0 L V8 generating 361 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque and a 6.2 L V8 making 402 hp and 402 pound-feet of torque. And all these engines sent power through 5-speed, 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels.
