An air filter is important to the vehicle's life, it can stop debris from being trapped and entering the engine. Serious damage can occur, like the engine failing on you. As more modern cars start to tighten on some builds, to have and replace the filter is crucial to protect the engine as well as the performance.

Cabin air filters

The cabin air filters are shaped to fit into the vehicle's air intakes on the passenger compartment. The reduction in air flow from the vents can be due to a clogged or dirty air filter, and can produce allergies. Also, the performance of the cabin filter depends on other components and how much air is allowed to pass through.

Combustion air filter

The combustion air filter job is to prevent any debris from entering the engine cylinders and cause mechanical wear. The fuel injected vehicles tend to use a paper filter in shape of the panel. While the cylindrical air filter is used for older vehicles which will provide the vehicle with proper ventilation.

Not protecting your vehicle's engine from the dirt and debris can cause serious issues from reducing performance, misfire, greater oil consumption as well as completely messing up the vehicle. So it is important to replace the vehicle's filter to make sure it is performing at its best. The replacement of the air filter can be done by anyone, removing a couple of clips and screws from the housing.
