About Chevrolet Trax

Available in the United States until the 2015 model year, Chevrolet Trax has been produced by an American multinational corporation General Motors Company's automobile Chevrolet Division since 2012 as a subcompact crossover Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). Originally introduced to take the place of Chevrolet Tracker, Chevrolet HHR and Pontiac Vibe, Trax is Chevrolet's smallest crossover, slotting under the midsize Chevrolet Equinox and Chevrolet Captiva. Now, Trax is still in its first generation.
Though the first Chevrolet Trax made its debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show as a concept car, the production version did not appear until the 2013 North American International Auto Show. Built at the GM Gamma II platform sharing with the Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Sonic, Opel Mokka and Buick Encore, Trax is available as a 5-door hatchback. And it comes in with three trim levels: entry-level LS, mid-level LT, LTZ and high-end Premier. Now, Trax is powered by a 1.4 L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine producing 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque and this engine sends power through a 6-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels or four wheels. For the 2017 model year, an updated Chevrolet Trax was unveiled at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show on February 12, 2016, and it went on sale in the fall of 2016.

Chevrolet Trax Common Problems & Maintenance Tips

Offering competitive multimedia features and is available with 4G LTE connectivity as well as spacious storage spaces, Chevrolet Trax is a good choice for those who need a hauler with a roomy interior. But since as accumulation of mileage, these common problems may appear on your Trax, you had better be prepared in advance:
First, the engine failure caused by the cooling system failure is what Chevrolet Trax drivers feel hardest to handle since once the engine starts to wear, all seems to be out of control. The best solution is to diagnose and solve it before it brings about some devastating consequences. According to some experienced Trax drivers, when the coolant starts to leak, the engine will suffer from overheating and keep at a high operation temperature, and that is when its performance dramatically. The engine may misfire, stall, or even suffer from hard starting or inability to start. Before you notice a decrease in gas mileage and power while acceleration, if you find you need to add coolant more frequently and both the Check Engine Light and Low Coolant Light come on, you had better put the Trax coolant reservoir, air filter, cooling hose, radiator, intake manifold gasket, head gasket, oil filter and spark plug on the inspection list.
Second, braking failure is also a disaster for Chevrolet Trax drivers since braking system often decides if the drivers could reach the destination safely or not. I believe no driver will overlook the issues on the braking system, the point lies in solving as soon as possible. Based on Trax drivers' experience, the brakes will firstly make some sounds when being depressed, then you will find they respond poorly. The brake pedal also becomes pulsating when being employed. And if you start to inspect carefully, you may also find score marks covered on the rotors. The Parking Brake Light and Brake Warning Light will also come on to warn you to inspect the Trax brake disc, brake rotors, brake pad, brake drum, brake caliper, parking brake cable and brake line.
In order to enjoy the pleasure brought by your Chevrolet Trax, you need to make sure every auto part in it is in a prime condition and play their roles perfectly. It means you need to perform routine maintenance on some vulnerable auto parts of it as they could not last as long as the vehicle could. For example, cabin air filter could be clogged if it has been used long for filtering dirt or contaminations in the air. Therefore, please add Trax cabin air filter, emblem, seat belt, windshield wiper, wiper blade, seat belt, fog light, headlight and antenna to your routine maintenance list.
